I'm here to share a story with you all. A story of love, resilience and a bond that has stood the test of time. Meet this incredible couple who have been married for over 50 years. Yes, you heard it right! Just like the delicious fries I crave, this love story is golden, crisp, and ever satisfying.

Now, I'm a complete softie when it comes to love and relationships. I mean, I'm the one who gets teary-eyed when the elderly couple in the movie still holds hands, forget about when the dog dies. So, it's no surprise that I was overwhelmed with emotions when I had the opportunity to photograph a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Stationed here, on the beautiful coasts of Michigan, I've had the privilege to document many love stories, but this one is special. It made me rethink the 'American Dream'. Is it really about the big house, the fancy car and the high-paying job? Or should it be about finding that one person with whom you want to eat your breakfast for the next 50 years? (Of course, minus the cheese if you're lactose intolerant like me, lol!)

This amazing couple, still so much in love, made me believe that the new 'American Dream' should be about celebrating 50 years of marriage. They were just like the Great Lakes here in Michigan, vast, deep and beautiful. Their bond, their understanding, their undying love for each other, are the true definition of relationship goals.

Here's a toast to them and to all the couples out there who are working hard to make their marriages last. May you find joy, companionship and an everlasting bond in each other. And remember, love is like my favorite potato dish, it's best served hot, shared, and enjoyed until the last bite.
